Spontaneous generations: lessons in the ubiquity of microbial life

A simple sterile food source for microbes is exposed to the atmosphere so that the unseen, but ubiquitous, air spora is allowed to land on it and transform it into life. The slime mould Physarum polycephalum provides the yellow embellishment.
